Aoxiang Town, located in the core area of Fengxi New City, Xixian New Area, is China's first innovation demonstration zone focused on the "aerial, space, land and marine" intelligent unmanned systems industry. Co-founded by Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), Fengxi New City, and Kewei Group, it integrates education, research, industry, and finance. Dubbed "a model of government-university-enterprise cooperation in Shaanxi" by People's Daily, it has been recognized in provincial/municipal government reports seven times and endorsed by national ministries.
During a January 2024 inspection, Premier Li Qiang emphasized accelerating UAV R&D to boost low-altitude economy development. As Shaanxi's sole sci-tech innovation town, Aoxiang hosts major projects like Aisheng UAV and Kewei Intelligent Aircraft, along with provincial-level platforms including Academician Xu Demin's Workstation and the Shaanxi Low-Altitude Economy Committee. It features the Qinchuangyuan Aoxiang Building, Aoxiang Intelligence Valley, and an operational Low-Altitude Economy Integration Demo Zone.
Aoxiang drives innovation through university-local-enterprise collaboration, hosting international events like the Intelligent Unmanned Systems Conference. It is developing as Qinchuangyuan's UAV industrial cluster, low-altitude economy hub, and integrated talent-development demonstration zone.
